Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence‑based therapy that helps heal trauma, anxiety, grief, and difficult life experiences. Through bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or sounds), the brain is able to reprocess painful memories and release emotional charge.
At Voces de Vida, EMDR is offered with cultural humility, spiritual grounding, and deep respect for each person’s history and language.
Trauma can leave memories “stuck” in the body and mind. EMDR helps the brain process and integrate these experiences, transforming pain into understanding and strength.
EMDR may support individuals living with:
Sessions move at your pace, prioritizing safety and consent. EMDR can be provided in person or virtually and may be combined with other therapeutic services.
All sessions are provided by therapists trained and certified in EMDR.

Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) is a neuroscience‑based approach that helps the brain release the emotional charge of traumatic memories. Through guided visualization, individuals are able to recall past experiences without reliving fear or distress.
It does not require medication or reliving the trauma, and is typically completed in 2 to 4 sessions per memory.
RTM may support individuals living with:
The memory remains, but the suffering no longer dominates the present.
Sessions are calm, guided, and safe. The individual remains conscious and in control at all times. RTM may be provided individually or integrated with other therapeutic services.
